THE HOUSE OF

NEW ZEALAND

CEUD MILE FAILTE! One hundred thousand welcomes to the House of Gordon New Zealand. We are part of a world wide society for the promotion of the Clan Gordon. Founded in Scotland in 1961 and now has members in Scotland, America, Canada, Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands and here in New Zealand!
The House of Gordon was formed in Scotland by the Marquis of Huntly, the father of our present Clan Chief, Granville Charles Gomes Gordon, Earl of Aboyne and current Marquis of Huntly.
The House of Gordon in New Zealand was started in Christchurch in the early 1960's by Mr. Huntly Gordon Eliott, Mr. Charlie Thomas, Mr. Tom Gordon and Mrs. Ulva Quarrel. After some years it lapsed and was revived in the 1990's by Mr. Michael Fraser-Milne. Since then we have continued to grow in membership and we are always happy to welcome new members.
Members of the House of Gordon receive an Ivy Leaf pin to wear and show you are a member of the House of Gordon. The Ivy Leaf Newsletter around 4 times a year, and you have the chance to take part in various Scottish gatherings throughout the year where you meet with other Clan members who share your Scottish heritage. Help with genealogical / family history matters is available from a number of members in New Zealand.
